ABOUT THE COURSE

Refuge means turning to Buddha and his teachings as the source of our spiritual protection. Enjoy these two days of gentle retreat sessions and the opportunity to draw closer to Buddha, deepen our experience of Dharma, Buddha’s teachings, and being with Sangha, our spiritual friends.

The sessions will be led by an experienced Buddhist practioner


Kadam Chris Heyes is the Resident Teacher at Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Centre Leicester and brings 35 years of meditation experience to his teachings, making them powerful and incisive.

You do not have to be a Buddhist to benefit from this course, our courses are designed to suit modern life living. No previous experience nor special clothing is required. Each course consists of a combination of guided meditations and practical teachings on how to apply the ancient teachings of Buddha to a busy modern life. This wisdom is derived from Modern Buddhism presented by our founder Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and is easy to understand and practice. You will learn the methods to let go of stress, worry and anxiety and improve the quality of your life and mental wellbeing by developing ways of maintaining inner peace and happiness regardless of life’s challenges.

No special clothing required, wheelchair accessible entrance, seating on chairs or cushions.
