“Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. We all wish for world peace, but world peace will never be acheived unless we first establish peace within our own minds. Only by creating peace within our own mind and helping others to do the same can we hope to achieve peace in this world.”
-Geshe Kelsang Gyatso,

Frequently asked questions:
What does class entail? Each class consists of a breathing meditation to settle the mind. Then there is a teaching based on a topic from Transform Your Life. Then we collectively recite the verses from Prayers for World Peace which include a silent period for further meditation.
Is it religious? The classes are based on practical teachings which principally reveal how to maintain a happy and peaceful mind all the time and then to share this experience with others. Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso says “Everybody, religious or non-religious is looking for happiness all the time. They can fulfil their aim through practising these instructions.” Our Centre draws people from all walks of life from experienced Buddhist practitioners to those just wishing to learn more about meditation. Everybody is welcome regardless of background or beliefs.
Do I have to join in the prayers? No. The main part of the class will be teaching and guided meditation. The prayers help prepare the best conditions in our mind for these and last around 10-15 minutes. There is no requirement to participate; you can listen and soak up the peaceful energy of the meditation room.
