Volunteering at Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Centre
Come to volunteer
If you would like the opportunity to experience what it is like to live in a Buddhist centre in the heart of the city, why not volunteer and stay with us? Volunteering is an exchange where by for some of your time (30 hours per week) we provide you with the following;
- accommodation (Same sex dormitory, which includes bedding and towels)
- food (Lunch is from the cafe and a kitchen with food is provided to prepare the rest of your meals)
- access to our meditation classes.
Helping at our World Peace Cafe
We will train you up in skills. The café is a big part of our meditation centre as it is sometimes peoples first insight into our Buddhist centre. We therefore try our best to make this space as welcoming as possible. The café is a nice environment where you will be trained in how to prepare a wide range of food and drinks. Do not worry if you have no experience as we provide training hopfully during your time you will learn new skills and meet other volunteers from around the globe.
Please note: Volunteering also involves taking out our outside cafe furniture to our pavement terrace at the start and brining it in at the end of each day.
As well as the World Peace Café, help is also needed in other parts of our centre. Some of this work can include;
- Helping to clean the centre
- Setting up the meditation room
- Cooking in the main kitchen
- General office work
- cleaning
We accept volunteers from all over the world, therefore this is a great opportunity to meet lots of different people from different cultures.
