On this half-day course we will look at how meditation can beat stress and help you to be more relaxed, peaceful and positive in daily life. Train in powerful stress-busting techniques derived from ancient Buddhist wisdom, face life’s adversities with a happy heart, learn how to deal with ‘difficult people’ without getting angry, and transform hardships into opportunities for spiritual growth.

Developing Inner Peace

The real source of happiness is inner peace. If our mind is peaceful, we will be happy all the time, regardless of external conditions, but if it is disturbed or troubled in any way, we will never be happy, no matter how good our external conditions may be. External conditions can only make us happy if our mind is peaceful. We can understand this through our own experience. For instance, even if we are in the most beautiful surroundings and have everything we need, the moment we get angry any happiness we may have disappears. This is because anger has destroyed our inner peace.

On this Half-day course we will look at simple, practical but profound practices that will help you to develop your own inner peace, through meditation

By developing a good heart we can improve our human nature. Everyone needs to be good-natured with a good heart; in this way we can solve our problems as well as those of others, and we can make our human life meaningful. Our special guest Teacher, Buddhist Nun, Gen Kelsang Tubchen will explain simple but profound methods to deepen your inner peace.

Teacher

Gen Kelsang Tubchen is the Resident Teacher at Nordic Kadampa Meditation Centre in Norway. She is a gifted and inspiring Teacher and in 2013 she was elected as the National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition for the Nordic Region.

Gen Tubchen has been a buddhist nun since 2003 and she is loved for her clear, powerful and practical teachings and her deep retreat experience. She regularly visits the different centres throughout the Nordic region to teach and guide retreats

Introduction to Buddhism

This Half-day course with senior Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Chonden will look at practical ideas from Kadampa Buddhism that are relevant to our daily lives. This day course will give you a chance to gain some deeper experience of meditation.

Kadampa Buddhism is a time honored tradition that for centuries has made Buddha’s teachings and meditation practices available to people throughout the world.

Buddhism has a timeless and universal relevance, and can be practiced by anyone in any culture, regardless of race, gender, or age. Through training in meditation and other Buddhist practices you can improve the quality of your life by developing inner peace, compassion, and wisdom.

Everybody is welcome, both newcomers to meditation and those with more experience.


Teacher

The Teacher: Gen Chonden is an ordained Buddhist Monk and has been studying and teaching under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 20 years. He is a very experienced and inspiring teacher and always brings a wealth of personal experience into his teachings.
