Developing Concentration

This half-day will guide you through some of the obstacles that we experience in our meditation practice and daily life that prevent us from experiencing good concentration.

‘Pure concentration has four qualities: lucidity, clarity, strength and stability. When the mind is free from the clouds of distracting conceptions it becomes bright and clear, like a cloudless sky; this is known as ‘lucidity’. ‘Clarity’ means that the object appears clearly and vividly to the mind, ‘strength’ that the object is held firmly by strong mindfulness, and ‘stability’ that the mind abides single-pointedly’ Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso – How to Understand Your Mind

Stop Feeling Overwhelmed

One of the hardest parts about living a life of being overwewhelmed is the way that it always tends to be present in your life. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing or how much you need to focus. That feeling of being overwhelmed is always there.

On this course we will look at how Buddhist meditation can begin to reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed and which will help you create some space within your mind so that you can be more relaxed, peaceful and, positive in daily life.
