1st May – 22nd May a four-week course. Weekly guided meditations and Buddhist teachings are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners. General meditation classes are given as a series, but can also be taken individually.

Please feel free to drop in on a class-by-class basis. Classes are held every week unless otherwise stated.

No special clothing is required. No pre-booking required.

Mindfulness and meditation provide practical tools to deal with the challenges of daily life, which will enable you to remain calm and focused.
They can help you let go of stress and negativity,  and stay focused in a positive way.

Positive thinking helps you to improve your relationships and become a happier, more loving individual. It also improves your energy levels so that you can get the very best out of life.

These classes are suitable for everyone and especially newcomers. General Programme (GP)classes are given as a series, but can also be taken individually. Feel free to drop in on a class-by-class basis.

The Teacher

Kadam Chris Heyes is the Resident Teacher of Nagarjuna Leicester Kadampa Meditation Centre.  He is a dedicated student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for over 25 years.

Kadam Chris is married with two children and shows by example how to integrate meditation into a busy family life.  His teachings are always practical and easy to apply to everyday life. Through his gentle and joyful approach and his peaceful example, he has helped many people find true happiness in their hearts. Kadam Chris is also a renowned Kadampa Buddhist artist. About Kadampa Meditation Center Leicester

Located in the heart of Leicester, Nagarjuna Kadampa Meditation Center provides meditation classes and events and is home to the World Peace Cafe.

We have daily lunchtime classes from Mondays to Fridays 12.30pm – 1.00pm, so if you are shopping or working in town, why not drop-in for a relaxing meditation.

We offer evening drop-in classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sunday am (Free class once a month) Sunday pm, which is suitable for all, we also so have Saturday morning half-day courses, perfect introductory courses for beginners, or new to meditation. We also have day courses and our very popular Meditation and Meal evenings.

We also have Foundation Programme on Wednesday evenings which is a special meditation and study group for those wishing to deepen their understanding of Buddha’s teachings.

Our vegetarian World Peace Cafe is open from Mondays – Saturdays from 10.30am, our cafe is run by volunteers from all over the world. Our Cafe is closed the first Monday of each month.
